Funeral Services will be Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds- Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Kyron C. BeDunnah officiating.   Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.   Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.  She was born Dec. 28, 1937, at Oxford to Mark and Loretta (Nickerson) Mitchell. Jane was a 1956 Oxford High School graduate. She then went on to serve her country in the United States Navy as a hospital corps wave from 1957 to 1959.   Jane was united in marriage to Jose “Joe” Maya on March 18, 1957. He died on April 3, 1965. The couple had four children; Steven Guy, Michael Eugene, Brenda Kay and Marlana Ann. She then married Raymond Eugene Barnes on June 12, 1966. Ray and Jane were blessed with one daughter, Julie Rae. Ray adopted Jane’s other children and was a wonderful father to all of them.   Jane went on to achieve her dream of becoming an LPN by graduating in 1973 from Central Community College in Kearney. She started working at Lexington Community Hospital in 1975 and moved to the new Tri-County Hospital in 1976, where worked as an LPN for the next 29 years, retiring in February of 2004.   Jane loved being a mother and nurse. Her kids were her life. She also enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, crocheting, knitting, camping, fishing, playing the piano and, once in awhile, playing slot machines.   Jane was a member of the Lexington Christian Church.  Survivors include two sons, Steven Guy Maya of Wheatland, Wyo., Michael Eugene Barnes of Milliken, Colo.; three daughters, Brenda Kay (David) Wehnes of Harvard, Marlana Ann (Jerry) Saulsbury of Lexington, Julie Rae (Kevin) Hagan of Eddyville; one brother, Mark Wayne Mitchell of Upton, Wyo.; one special adopted brother, Gerald Mayo of Estes Park, Colo.; one honorary daughter, Lisa Juel of Oconto; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.   Jane was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and her loving dog, Missy Mae.
