Lloyd E. Barta, Sr., 76, of Lexington, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Tri-
County Hospital in Lexington. 

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity 
Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Michael Gruhn officiating.
 
Burial with Military Honors will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lexington.
 
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-
Love Chapel in Lexington.

Lloyd was born July 26, 1934, at Overton, to Mike G. and Eva A. (Warner) 
Barta.  

He was united in marriage to Patricia Louise Johnson on June 7, 1964, at 
Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington.  Pat preceded Lloyd in death in 1997.  
He was united in marriage to Opal Brown Berry on Aug. 15, 1999, at Lexington.  
 
Survivors include his wife, Opal Barta of Lexington; one son, Lloyd (Susan) 
Barta, Jr., of Gibbon; one daughter, Karma (Rick) Bevard of Cozad; Opal’s 
children, Barbara (Ray) Fleharty of Cozad, James (Jan) Berry of Osceola, Pat 
(Guy) Johnson of Riverdale, Sandy (Tom) Bevacqua of Greenfield, Mass., Terry 
(Shari) Berry of Longview, Texas; 23  grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 
three brothers,  Fritz Barta of Oregon, Don (Helen) Barta of Lexington, Harmon 
Barta of Lexington; one sister, Dorothy (Marvin) Linder of Cozad and many 
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
 
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Patricia; four 
brothers, George, Frank, Ed and Chester Barta and four sisters, Mildred, 
Leora, Edna and Martha.
