Delores “Toots” Biesterfeld, age 85, of Cozad, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 
the Cozad Community Hospital in Cozad. 

Services will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the Berryman 
Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with Kenneth Pitkin officiating.

A private family inurnment will be held in the Cozad Cemetery at a later date. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Berryman 
Funeral Home in Cozad.

She was born May 27, 1925 at Wilton, N. D., to Iver and Nettie (Brown) 
Erickson. She attended Painted Woods rural school at Wilton and later attended 
Wilton High School. 

Toots married Leslie “Ike” Biesterfeld at Amarillo, Texas. The couple made 
their home at Wilton, N.D. where they farmed. The family later moved to 
Bismark and then in 1952, moved to Cozad. Ike and Toots made their home in 
Callaway, Lexington and Elm Creek before returning to Cozad in 1994. Her 
husband preceded her in death in 2000.

Toots is survived by her five daughters, Nancy (Dennis) Bassett of Cheyenne, 
Wyo., Carol (Al) Kriks of Filley, Diann (Jim) Supanchick of Axtell, Mavis 
Newton of Callaway and Cindy (John) Watkins of Carbondale, Colo.; sister, 
Lorene Biesterfeld of Cozad; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two 
great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Donna Joy; son-in-law, 
Dennis Newton; brother, Melvin Erickson; brother-in-law, Leo Biesterfeld and 
nephew, Rodney Biesterfeld.
