(German) Boggs, age 101 of Omaha, formerly of Cozad, died May 2, 2008 at the Skyline Care Center in Omaha. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the St. John’s Cemetery northeast of Cozad. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad with family receiving friends at 11 a.m. Survivors include one daughter, Nina (Wayne) Strain of Modale, Iowa; grandson John Strain of Onawa, Iowa; granddaughter Julie (Jeff) Shelton of Modale, Iowa; great-granddaughters Paige Shelton and Blaire Shelton of Modale, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Kirstina German; two brothers, Torvald (Bushy) German and Melvin German and three sisters, Atha Barnett, Neva Robertson and Delores German. Elvera was born April 30, 1907 in a rural area near Cozad that was settled by Danish immigrants. She didn’t speak English until she went to school.
