Memorial Services were Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at the Lexington Christian Church in Lexington with Pastor Kyron C. BeDunnah officiating.   There was no visitation as Ken’s body was cremated.   Inurnment was at the Robb Cemetery south of Lexington with Military Honors. Survivors include one son, George “Bud” (Carrie) Brandenberg of Cozad; two daughters, Brenda Laura (John) Buchholz of Overton, Corrine “Corky” (Scott) Anderson of Lexington; three sisters, Lydia McKee of Washington State, Leota Schledewitz and Leona Frye, both of Kearney; six grandchildren, Sara Buchholz of Arnold, Christopher Buchholz and companion, Kimmi Prucha of Kearney; Lindsey Anderson of Lexington, Kaylee, Jordan and Geoffrey Brandenberg of Cozad and one great-grandson, Jarret Buchholz of Arnold.   Ken was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; daughter, Debra Lynette; two brothers, Clarence and Willard and four sisters; Goldie McKee, Eunice Gerken, Lucille Gerken and Gladys Phillips.  He was born Aug. 31, 1927 at Lexington to Martin Willard and Bertha Ellen (Lindsay) Brandenberg. Ken grew up at Lexington where he received his education. He joined the United States Army and served his country during WWII.   Ken was united in marriage to Donna L. Adams on June 17, 1952, at Kearney. Four children were blessed to this marriage; Debra Lynette, Brenda Laura, Lydia Corrine and George Martin. Ken and Donna moved to California after they were married and Ken worked at an aircraft factory. The couple returned to Nebraska in 1954 and moved to Omaha where Ken worked for a glass company. In 1959, they returned to the Lexington area where Ken worked for Harold Knauss. He also worked for Dawson County Motors, Cornland Dressed Beef, Darr Packing and finished his career with the City of Lexington, Water Treatment Plant, retiring in 1992.   Ken was a member of the V.F.W., the Waste Water Treatment Association as well as the Lexington Christian Church.
