Marlene M. Brock, age 92, of Lexington died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 at the 
Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. 

Funeral Services were held at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington 
on Tuesday, Feb. 19, with the Rev. Connie Karr, officiating.

Visitation was held at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington on 
Monday, Feb. 18.

Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.

Survivors include her son, Craig (Bonnie) Brock of Bertrand; daughter-in-law, 
Linda Brock of Lexington; two sisters, Meta Maslonka of Tekamah and Maxetta 
Maslonka of Walthill; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Shattuck of Kearney and 
Donna Shattuck of Yakima,Wash.; five grandchildren, Ivan Brock of Lexington, 
Tory (Ryan) Earleywine of Lincoln, Tammy Bojorquez of Lexington, Jessica Brock 
of Hastings and Travis Brock of Bertrand; nine great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ray Albert Brock Sr.; three 
sons, Terry, Ray and Mark Brock; two brothers, Mervin Shattuck and 
LaMar “Buck” Shattuck; one sister, Maxene (Dale) Duncan; two brothers-in-law, 
Edward and Raymond Maslonka.

Marlene was born on Nov. 9, 1915, on the family farm ten miles from Springview 
in Keya Paha County, Nebraska. She was the second of six children of Homer and 
Pearl (Bingham) Shattuck. She received her primary education in rural schools 
and then graduated from Keya Paha County High School with the class of 1934. 

On March 30, 1943, she was united in marriage to Ray Albert Brock Sr. at 
Galveston, Texas. They had four sons: Ray Albert Sr., Terry Gene, Craig Alan 
and Mark Kenneth.
