It was Opal’s wishes that her body be cremated and her ashes be inurned privately. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles; son, Charles Jr.; daughter, Beverly Ann Rickerson; five brothers and two sisters. She was born Feb. 10, 1918, at Oketo, Kan., to Gus and Pearl (Pike) Novotney. Opal attended school in Oketo. Opal married Charles Brucker on Feb. 1, 1936, in Salina, Kan. To this union two children were born, Charles Jr., and Beverly. The family moved from Kansas to Darr in the early 1940s and then moved to Lexington in the late 1970s where they had lived ever since.
