Roberta M. “Bobbie” Burmood, 94, of Kearney, formerly of Lexington, died 
Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Mother Hull Home in Kearney.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at First 
Presbyterian Church in Lexington with Pastor Caroline Vickery, officiating.

Visitation was Friday, March 18, at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Burial will be in the Shelton Cemetery. 

She was born to Edward Henry and Ethel May (Jones) Oliver on May 24, 1916.  
Bobbie grew up on a farm near Shelton and attended Shelton School. 

She was united in marriage to Sheridan Z. “Tex” Burmood on Oct. 25, 1940.  
Bobbie lived with Tex’s parents while he served in the U.S. Navy.  Two boys 
were born to this union: Dennis and Michael.  

Survivors include her two sons, Dennis (Jo) Burmood of Lexington, Michael 
(Pam) Burmood of Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Kim Burmood and friend 
Kevin of Hastings, Chris (Deanna) Burmood of Lincoln, Ben Burmood of Lincoln, 
Cassi (Will) Mossburg of Omaha, Bryon (Laura) of Tucson; two step-
grandchildren, Lisa (Joe) Acuna of Whittier, Calif., and Mellisa Aden of 
Tucson; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann (Lynn) DeLaet of Kearney, 
Josephine Oliver of Kearney; one brother, Nelson Oliver of Shelton and 
numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Tex; five 
brothers, Everett, Gilbert, Stuart, George and Kenny; two sisters, Evelynn and 
Lucille and two great-grandchildren, Hallie Brook Burmood and Jackson 
Mossburg.
