Maxine Cook, 83, of Lexington, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Tri-County 
Hospital in Lexington.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 3, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity 
Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Michael Gruhn officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.

Visitation was held Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home 
in Lexington.

She was born March 4, 1927, at Huntsville, Ark., to Claude and Cora (Fowler) 
Bolinger.  When she was nine years old, the family moved to Ucross, Wyo., 
where her father was involved with ranching.

Maxine was a graduate of Clearmont High School in Clearmont, Wyo., with the 
class of 1947.  She was united in marriage to Edwin Cook on Dec. 5, 1948, at 
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheridan, Wyo.  Two children were blessed to this 
marriage; Perry and Teresa.  Following their marriage Ed and Maxine resided in 
Wyoming and Montana and moved to California in 1954.  In 1958, they moved to 
Seward where Ed attended Concordia Teacher’s College until 1961.

Ed received his calling to Seminary and attended Concordia Theological 
Seminary in Springfield, Ill.  The couple served parishes in Wyoming and 
Nebraska.  Pastor and Mrs. Cook served seven different churches in the area, 
retiring in 2004. 
 
Maxine was living at Park Avenue Estates at the time of her death.  Maxine 
loved living close to her grandchildren and new great-granddaughter.  She 
enjoyed embroidery, baking, cooking, doing crafts at Park Avenue and playing 
afternoon Bingo.

Survivors include one son, Perry (Estela) Cook of Lemoore, Calif.; one 
daughter, Teresa (Jack) Maxcy of Lexington; two brothers, Clifton “Jeff” 
(Edna) Bolinger of Sheridan, Truman (Barbara) Bolinger of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 
one sister, Christine (Donald) Lane of Scottsdale; four grandchildren:  James 
Maxcy, Katherine (Joseph) Alvarado, all of Lexington, Christopher (Jenny) Cook 
and Jennifer Cook, all of Lemoore; three great-grandchildren, Brandon and 
Tyler Cook of Lemoore, Aleyna Alvarado of Lexington as well as nieces, 
nephews, other relatives and friends.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed in 2009; and one 
great-grandson, Isaac.
