Funeral Services will be held at the Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church northwest of Holdrege on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Craig Roberts, officiating. Interment will be in the Moses Hill Cemetery in rural Phelps County. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010 at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege with the family greeting friends. Selma was born on Dec. 8, 1918 at Edison, the youngest of four children born to Theodore and Sophia (Lewis) Bomark. She received her high school diploma from Edison Public High School in 1936. She went on to the Lincoln School of Commerce, before moving to Glendale, Calif., to work at the public library and Lockheed Aircraft Corporation. Lorraine worked for the U.S. Army Ordnance Division at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. during 1942 and 1943. After World War II, she returned to southern California, where she worked for the Occidental Insurance Company. Lorraine was united in marriage to Dale Leroy Danielson in 1951 and to this union five children were born: Stephen, Randall, John, Sandra, and Shelley. Lorraine and Dale raised their family on a farm northeast of Holdrege until their house burned down in November of 1965. They then moved to a farm in Gosper County north of Arapahoe, where they lived until 1984 when they retired from farming and moved to Lexington. Then in 1998, they moved to Fremont to be closer to family. On May 14, 2001, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Dale. Lorraine was an avid reader until glaucoma and macular degeneration robbed her of her sight. She leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters, Shelley (Ron) Ellis and her husband, of Lenora, Kan., Sandra (Bruce) Steinbach of Ames; her three sons: Stephen (Kathleen) of Lincoln, Randall of Carrollton, Mo., John (LouAnne) of Weeping Water; 12 grandchildren, Jacob and Kyle Danielson of Lincoln, Angela, Timothy, and David Danielson of Weeping Water, Maggie and Lacy Ellis of Lenora, Jeremy and Aaron Hilker of Fremont, Justin Hilker of Valley, Jeff Hilker of Hooper and Stephanie Carlin of Ames; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Neva Danielson of Kearney and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Alyce Danielson, Inez Hall and Vincent Bomark. A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
