Dorwart, 97, of Lexington, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with the Rev. Don O’Brien and Deacon Jason Dorwart con-celebrating.   Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at Friend.   Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 from 6-7 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.  She was born Oct. 2, 1912 at Friend to Daniel Clinton and Anne Irene (Reilly) Dorwart.   Mary attended school and graduated from Friend High School with the class of 1930. Following graduation from high school Mary graduated from Van Sant’s School of Business and went to work for the United States War Department during WWII. During this time the Cadet Program was implemented and Mary entered Creighton University School of Nursing at St. Joseph’s in 1944. She graduated in 1947 as a registered nurse.   Following graduation, Mary and her mother moved to North Platte where she worked for St. Mary’s Hospital and then Memorial Hospital until 1955, when they moved to Lexington. During Mary’s working years in Lexington she worked for Slack Nursing Home, Lexington Community Hospital, Drs. McGee and Long and Dr. Bob Harry, and Tri- County Hospital.   Mary was a faithful member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church as well as the Altar Society. Golf was her passion and she enjoyed many rounds at Lakeside Country Club as well as playing tennis. She was a member of the Lexington Tennis Association.   As Mary’s health declined she spent the rest of her years living at Park Avenue Estates. She was one of a kind and always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye.   Survivors include local nieces, Ann (Jim) Murphy, Penny Dorwart, all of Lexington and many other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.   Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, her twin, Margaret Yaggie and Nelle Kiffin and six brothers, Tom, Jason, Harry, Clare, Clinton and Anthony.
