Madeline D. Engleman, 89, of Kearney, formerly of Overton, died Sunday, Jan. l,
2006, at The Homestead in Kearney.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, at the Overton
Methodist Church in Overton with Reverend Bonnie Linton-Hendrick officiating.

Burial will be in the Overton Cemetery at Overton.

There will be no visitation.

Survivors include her husband of almost 71 years, Dale Engleman of Kearney; one
son, Kenneth (Wanda) Engleman of Grand Terrace, Calif.; one daughter,Marilynn
(John) Fecht of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Nedra Chandler; and a
grandson, Jeffrey.

Madeline was born Oct.19, 1916, at Indianola, to C.C. and Edna (Holcomb) Burt.

She moved with her family to Overton in 1930, where her dad owned and operated a
service station in Overton.

She graduated from Overton High School with the class of 1933.

On May 26, 1935, she married Dale Engleman at Overton.

The couple moved to California for a time, where Madeline was the office manager
for the road department until her retirement. They returned to Overton,
where she was president several times of the Overton Garden Club. She was an
avid golfer and enjoyed painting.

Madeline was a 70+-year member of the Overton Methodist Church, where she was
always an active member and enjoyed playing the organ.
