June Fairchild, age 83 of Cozad, died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Linden Court in 
North Platte.

Services will be held Friday, May 9, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozad Christian 
Church with Jeremy Jech officiating.  Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 8 at the Berryman 
Funeral Home in Cozad.

Survivors include two sons, David (Betsy) Jones of Columbine Valley, Colo., 
Randy Fairchild and friend, Debbie Hoag of North Platte; daughter, Barbara 
Jones Block of Cozad; brother, Kenneth Holland of Kansas City, Mo.; eight 
grandchildren, Cherry (Archie) Canas of Cozad, Cynthea (Mark) Russell of North 
Platte, Lindsey Jones of New York City, Heidi (Zeb) Delancy of Denver, Wendy 
Phares of San Francisco, Calif.,; Susan Fairchild of Denver, Randi Fairchild 
of Toledo, Ohio, Sara Fairchild of Lincoln; ten great-grandchildren, Alexa and 
Allie Canas both of Cozad; Kaitlyn Naylor, Adeline and Drue Russell all of 
North Platte; Maya Delancy of Denver, Noah and Isaiah Henderson both of 
Lincoln, Brennan Keller of Toledo, Ohio; two special friends, Raelyn and Tony 
Gilmore both of North Platte; and many of other nieces, nephews, other 
relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Dale and second 
husband Kenneth; and two sisters.

June was born April 6, 1925 at Kansas City, Kan., to James and Elizabeth 
(Schmidt) Holland.  She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1942.

On June 16, 1942 she married Dale D. Jones at Kansas City, Kan. The couple 
made their home in Kansas and Colorado, before moving to Cozad in the late 
1940s.  Mr. Jones preceded her in death in 1951.  On Sept. 21, 1952 she 
married Kenneth D. Fairchild at Cozad.
