Alice Ellen Gamble, 91, of Lexington, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Plum Creek
Care Center in Lexington.

Funeral Services were held Friday at Robb Cemetery south of Lexington with the
Rev. Caroline Vickery officiating.

A visitation was Friday, May 21, 2010, at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. 

She was born March 16, 1919, at Buffalo, to Timothy and Emma (Gilmore) Wood. 
Alice attended Overton Public Schools.  She was united in marriage to James
Gamble on June 9, 1939 at Elwood.  Two daughters were blessed to this marriage,
Bonnie and Connie.  

Alice lived at Eastlawn Apartments in Lexington for 18 years prior to moving to
Plum Creek Care Center in September of 1998.  She was the unofficial “greeter”
at the door at Plum Creek and anyone who entered was always greeted with a
cheery “good morning.”  

She enjoyed going to church, greeting people and making new friends.  Alice will
be so missed.  

Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie (Perry) Folkers of Lexington, Connie
McConnell and her friend Laurie Loomis of Kearney; four granddaughters, Lachele
Myers of Superior, Tish Myers of Augusta, Ga., Jamie and Jeffery Muth of
Kearney, LaGaya Broadstone of Lincoln; two great-grandchildren, Brittany and
Logan; three great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Christopher and Ashland; three
brothers,  Ervin, Don and Lester Wood, all of Nebraska and two special friends,
Chrystal Noonan and Raymond Linden. 

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James on Jan. 7, 1980 and
two brothers, Boyd and Cecil.
