Memorial services will be conducted from the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Murray Jones officiating. Private family inurnment will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lexington. Memorial Book signing will be held on Wednesday, Jan.12, 2011 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson- Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege. Connie was born Dec. 29, 1949 at Lexington, the second of three children of Stanley G. and Margery J. (Raetz) Warren. She received her education from Lexington Public Schools. Following her education, Connie was united in marriage to Jerry L. Garringer on Feb.14, 1966 at Elm Creek and to this union three children were born: Jeri, Thomas and Todd. After their marriage, Jerry and Connie made their home in Lexington, where Connie was employed as a nurse’s aide at the Tri-County Hospital, and sewed for Betsy’s Bobbins north of Loomis for a few years. She also worked as a para- educator at the Sandoz Elementary School and prior to retirement she was a receptionist at the Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Lexington. In 2001, she relocated to Holdrege, where she continued to reside until her passing. Connie leaves to mourn her passing her former husband and best friend, Jerry Garringer of Holdrege; one daughter, Jeri White of Grand Island; one son, Todd (Becky) Garringer of Holdrege; six grandchildren, Ashley (Stephen) Venteicher, Jessica and Braxton White, all of Grand Island and Nathaniel, Preston “Bubba” and Matthew Garringer, all of Holdrege; one brother, Thomas (Mary) Warren of North Platte; sister, Bonnie (Mike) Osenton of Kansas City, Mo., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Thomas.
