(Wallace) Graves, 72, died May 31, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles L. Spence officiating. Inurnment will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Robb Cemetery near Lexington. Those wishing to sign her memorial book may do so from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Margaret is survived by her husband Clyde (CJ); her son, Richard (Crystal) Graves of Palo, Iowa; one grandchild, April; one brother, Bob (Sue) Wallace of Lexington; one sister, Marilyn (Ken) Kring of Lexington; four nieces, Lori (Dick) Cumpston of Lexington, Kathy Kring of Las Vegas, Nev., Tracy (Colin) Parsons of Sacramento Calif., Tami Wallace of San Francisco, Calif., and two great-nieces, Olivia Kate and Lily Margaret Parsons of Sacramento. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Wallace. She will be missed dearly by those who knew her best. Margaret was born Aug. 24, 1936, in Lexington to W. Clyde and Bernis (Meek) Wallace. She attended Robb School District No. 3 and Lexington High School, graduating in 1953. After high school Margaret was employed by the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator. On March 17, 1956 she was united in marriage to Clyde J. (C.J.) Graves at the United Methodist Church in Lexington. After settling first in Grand Island and then in O’Neill, Margaret welcomed the birth of her only child, Richard, after which they moved to Gothenburg where Margaret was employed by the Gothenburg State Bank until they moved to North Platte where Margaret worked for First National Bank. After retiring in 1990, Margaret and CJ spent time traveling and later shuttled between their home in North Platte and their winter home in Mission, Texas. Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church Choir in Gothenburg, a member of the Lake Maloney Golf Course and Two-Ten Extension Club in Gothenburg.
