Russell John Greathouse, 80, of Lexington, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at his
home in Lexington.

The family has honored Russell’s wishes that his body be cremated.

A memorial service will be held later in the fall with inurnment at Fort
McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.
 
He was born Sept. 13, 1929, at Lexington to John Hardy and Myrl Sylvia (Hine)
Greathouse.  
 
Mr. Greathouse spent much of his life in California working as an electrical
engineer for an aerospace company.  He retired and returned to Lexington to be
near family.  He was united in marriage to Helen Croff in the early 1960s. She
preceded him in death in 1990. 
 
Russell served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.   
Survivors include two sons, Russ (Tina) Greathouse of Lexington, Danny
Greathouse of Utah; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.  

Russell was preceded in death by his wife Helen and by his only sister, Nova
Workman Barmore.
