Theresa E. Griese, age 78, of Cozad, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at the Golden
Living Care Center in Cozad.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Ft.
McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell with Pastor Doug Smith officiating. 

Visitation for memorial book signatures will be held on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to
5 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.

Theresa was born July 1, 1932 at Lebanon, S. D. to Frank and Josephine (Weber)
Hoffmann.  She attended Lebanon High School.

On April 20, 1949, she married LeRoy H. Griese at Gettysburg, S.D.  The couple
made their home at the Air Force Base at Pierre, S.D. before moving to Onida,
S.D. and eventually Maxwell, where LeRoy began work at the Pawnee Springs Ranch.
 The couple’s union was blessed with two sons, Lynden and Karl, and two
daughters, Linda and Jolene. 

The family came to make their home in Cozad in 1969.  Theresa began work at
Monroe Auto Equipment Co. shortly after their arrival in Cozad; a job that she
continued for the next 32 years.  Theresa and LeRoy called Cozad their home for
the rest of their married life.

Theresa was preceded in death by her son, Karl; brother, Karl Hoffman and two
sisters, Shirley Stroup and Leatha Braun.

Survivors include her husband of over 61 years, LeRoy Griese of Cozad; her three
children, Linda M. Twidwell of Rifle, Colo., Lynden L. (Carolyn) Griese and
Jolene E. Wilson, all of Cozad; sister, Francis Sprague of Sioux Falls, S.D.;
five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and
friends.
