Harvey D. Hampton, 76, of Lexington, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at his home in
Lexington following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. 

Memorial Services will be Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at
Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with the Rev. Jeff Ernstmeyer
officiating.   

Inurnment will be in the Salem Cemetery near Elwood.

There will be no visitation.  Harvey’s wishes were to be cremated.

Survivors include his daughters, Marla (Charlie) Weber of Cozad, Brenda (Randy
Hoff) of Mitchell; sons, Carlie Hampton of Mitchell, Rodney (Dixie) Hampton of
Mitchell; brothers, Richard (Hilda) Hampton of Culbertson, Bruce (Esther)
Hampton of McCook, Chester Hampton of Mitchell; special friends and caregivers,
Kelly and Bernard Smith and their children, Clint and Billie of Elwood, along
with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Raymond; brothers, Kenneth and Peter. 
 
He was born April 20, 1933, in Mullen, to Carlie and Cammie (Morrison) Hampton. 
  
Harvey grew up in the sand hills area.  He settled in the Lexington area in the
1960s, where he was a farm hand and mechanic for many area businesses.
