Hannappel, age 79 of Cozad, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Cozad Community Hospital. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church in Cozad with Father Joseph Hannappel and Father Don O’Brien as celebrants. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church in Cozad. Wallace was born July 6, 1931 at Clarks to John and Irene (Supencheck) Hannappel. Wallace attended Clarks High School. Wallace would marry Phyllis Bolling at Central City on June 7, 1955. Survivors include his wife of over 55 years, Phyllis Hannappel of Cozad; his six children, Lawrence (Karen) Hannappel of Tucson, Ariz., Kathleen (Gary) Lemmer of Cozad, Father Joseph Hannappel of Kearney, Dr. Mark (Pam) Hannappel of Norfolk, Yvonne (Tim) Esch of Spalding, Irene (Aaron) Burklund of Omaha; 13 grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Sarah, Andrew, Emily, Michael, Madeline, Nathan, Alex, Anna, Matthew, Eva and Eli; seven siblings, Darlene, Dale, Maxine, Joyce, Larry, Don and Tom and a host of other relatives and friends. Wallace is preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Louise Schroeder; and two brothers, Gerald and Louis Hannappel.
