Carmel Nursing Home in Kearney after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cozad with Pastor Doug Smith and Ethel Fox officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Hank was born Feb. 3, 1937 at Cozad to Jesse and Myrtie (Scrutchfield) Henry. He graduated from Cozad High School in 1954. Following his schooling, Hank entered the U.S. Marine Corps where he served until 1958. Upon his discharge, Hank married Dorthy Hilton at the Presbyterian Church in Lexington. The couple made their home on a farm northeast of Cozad for most of their married life. Their union was blessed with four children, Mike, Patty, Teresa and Nicki. Hank farmed until the mid 1980s when he went to work at the Monfort Elevator. He later worked at Nebraska Plastics until his retirement in 1995 as a result of being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Hank was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Cozad, Cozad Country Club and the Cozad Elks Lodge No. 2250. Survivors include his wife, Dorthy Henry of Cozad; son, Mike (Jody) Henry of Cozad; three daughters, Patty (Jeff) Klesath, Teresa (Kent) Cordes, all of Kearney, Nicki Zimbelman of North Platte; 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Jordan, Katelyn, Bruce, Claire, Eli, Jacob, Kyle and Luke; two sisters, Kathryn (Ernie) Wempen of Overton, Marlene Scott of Elbert, Colo., and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Tom Petersen; mother and father-in-law, Roy and Anna Hilton; brother-in-law, Clifford VanCleave; and a nephew, Mick VanCleave.
