Jo Hunt, age 89, of Kearney, former longtime Cozad resident, died June 29, 
2010 at her home in Kearney after a long illness. 

Services will be held Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United 
Methodist Church in Cozad with the Reverends Doug Smith and Gary Main 
officiating. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery.  
    
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the 
Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
   
She was born April 7, 1921 to Herbert and Veda (Cox) Danner near Shelton. She 
graduated from Gibbon High School and then from the University of Nebraska at 
Lincoln. She married Francis Hunt on July 17, 1947 in Lincoln. The couple was 
blessed with three daughters, Mary Lee, Ann and Judy. 

After living in Lincoln, Republican City and Sidney, Fran and Jo moved to 
Cozad. They bought Hart Cleaners and renamed it Hunt Cleaners. After many 
successful years in the dry cleaning business, the couple retired and moved to 
Kearney in June of 1989.   

Jo was a past member of First United Methodist Church in Cozad and a current 
member of First United Methodist Church in Kearney. She enjoyed participating 
in church circles, teaching Sunday school and playing in numerous bridge 
clubs. She was especially proud of her family. 

Jo is survived by her husband, Fran Hunt of Kearney; two daughters, Ann (Don) 
Heiman of Westminster, Colo., Judy Cumming of Cozad; son-in-law, Larry 
Wilhelmi of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren, Dana (James) Pavlik, Annette 
(Jason) Harb, Rebecca Wilhelmi, Sarah Heiman, Kristen Heiman, Zach Heiman, 
Mike (Jennifer) Cumming, Holly (Curt) Rickertsen, David (Tiffany) Cumming and 
Bobby Cumming; 11 great grandchildren, Kiara, Kael and Jadyn Pavlik, Caleb, 
Owen, Emma and Zane Harb, Adah and Boden Cumming, Greta Rickertsen and another 
due in September.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jim Danner; a daughter, 
Mary Lee Wilhelmi and son-in-law, Bruce Cumming.
