David L. Jandebeur, 73, of Overton, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Tri-
County Hospital in Lexington. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at 
Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton with the Rev. Jose Chavez and Deacon 
Bill O’Donnell officiating. 
  
Wake with Rosary Service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at 
Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton. 

Burial will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell with full 
military honors.
  
He was born Dec. 4, 1936 at Paxton to Leo and Olive (Willmes) McQueen. His 
father died when he was young and David was raised by his grandparents.  David 
grew up south of Sutherland and lived there until 1945, when the family moved 
to North Platte.  He graduated from North Platte St. Patrick’s High School 
with the class of 1956.  
  
David served his country in the United States Navy from Sept. 23, 1957, until 
being honorably discharged on April 19, 1962.  Prior to his time in the Navy, 
David was a member of the Nebraska National Guard.  Following his time in the 
service, he returned to Nebraska and moved to Overton in 1962.  He was united 
in marriage to Pat Cooney on Aug. 12, 1964, at Broken Bow.  
  
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton, the Overton Fire 
Department, past member of the North Platte Fire Department, past member of 
the Overton District No. 48 school board and a huge Nebraska Husker fan.  
  
Survivors include his wife, Pat Jandebeur of Overton. 
  
He is also survived by four cousins. 
  
David was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
