Gloria I. Klein, 88 of Cozad, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 at the Golden Living 
Center at Cozad, due to health complications.

Services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Berryman 
Funeral Home in Cozad with Pastor Mike Parish officiating. Burial will be at 
the Cozad Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at the 
Berryman Funeral Home.

She was born Gloria Iola McCorkle on Dec. 5, 1922 in Cozad to Minnie (Goff) 
Hatcher-McCorkle-Wilcox and Harvey H. McCorkle.  Gloria attended school in 
Cozad until the 11th grade and later returned to school to receive her GED.  
On July 27, 1940, she married Edward Klein. To this blessed union were born 
two children; Gloria Dayle and Lonny.

Ed and Gloria made their home in Cozad, where Gloria worked many years within 
the community at Jeanaud shoes, KAMI radio, Ben Franklin and in her later 
years she worked in the gift shop at the Henri Museum.  She was an active 
member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and often handed out poppies on “Buddy 
Poppy Day” to people throughout town in the spring.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Glenn) Franzen of Cozad; son, 
Lonny (Susan) Klein of Lewes, Delaware; two granddaughters, Michelle Franzen 
of Cozad and Mindy Franzen of Lincoln; two great-grandsons, Gage and Hunter 
Holbein of Cozad and many other friends and family who loved her.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Ed in 1997; two half-brothers, 
Corwin and Dale Hatcher; one half-sister, LaVonne Randolph and her faithful 
companion Henry. 

A memorial has been established in her memory.
