A memorial service will be held Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington with the Rev. Caroline Vickery officiating.  Burial will be held prior to the memorial service at the Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 3-5 p.m. at the Reynolds- Love Funeral Home in Lexington.  She was born May 17, 1914, at Upland, to Perly and Louise (Trembly) Monk.   Vi went to grade school in Newark and moved to Elm Creek when she was 10 years old.  She graduated from Elm Creek High School with the class of 1931.  She was united in marriage to Earl Knapple on Oct. 21, 1941 at Holdrege.  The couple was blessed with one son, Steve.  Vi worked outside of the home for nine years at Reach Electronics in the advertising department.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star. She was a wonderful wife and mother and enjoyed being with her family and visiting with friends and neighbors.  Vi was a true “lady” and will be so very missed.  Survivors include her son, Steve (Shirley) Knapple; one granddaughter, Carly Knapple and one great-granddaughter, Bella Louise, all of Lincoln.   Vi was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; three brothers, Ivan, Ray and Wayne and four sisters, Irene, Della, Edna and Vivian.    File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ne/dawson/obits/k/knapple103gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nefiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
