Kussman, 70, of Cozad, formerly of Lexington, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at Cozad Community Hospital. Funeral Services will be Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Lexington Christian Church with Pastor K.C. BeDunnah officiating.   Burial with full Military Honors will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.   Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Survivors include Thelma, his wife of 49 years; sons Leroy (Dinah) Kussman, Sonny Kussman and Robert (Jami) Kussman all of Cozad; daughters Sandra (Rick) Thornton of Cozad and Becky (Paul) Carpenter of Fort Worth, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.   He is also survived by a brother Robert Kussman of Davenport, Iowa and a sister Maggie Morris of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James; two brothers, John and Frank; two sisters, Lucille Houston and Ardalia Engle; best friend and brother-in-law, Elden Morris and two great-grandchildren.  He was born Dec. 11, 1938, in Wayland, Mo., to Francis and Wilveretta (Burgess) Kussman. Leroy attended school and worked on his grandfather’s farm in Alexandria, Mo., prior to enlisting in the Army in 1957. He was honorably discharged in 1960.   He was united in marriage to Thelma Malloy on Aug. 20, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Keokuk, Iowa. Six children were blessed to this union.   The couple moved to Cozad in 1961 and then to Lexington where they spent the next 40 years. Leroy worked first at the hay mill in Cozad then worked at Monroe Auto for 12 years, which led him to a long maintenance career.
