Kutsch, 88, of Cozad, formerly of Lexington and Holdrege, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Golden Living Care Center in Cozad. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cozad with Father Don O’Brien as celebrant. Burial with military honors will be at the St. Anselm’s Cemetery east of Anselmo at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Lyle was born on Aug. 7, 1922 near Miller to Fred and Ada (Fielder) Kutsch. He attended grade school at District No. 54 in Buffalo County and graduated from Miller High School in 1940. On August 29, 1975, Lyle was married to Gertrude Hickey in Lexington. He was baptized into the Catholic faith on April 10, 1993 at Lexington. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude of Cozad; sister, Doris (Joe) Cherry of Pueblo, Colo.; sister-in-law, Luella Kutsch of Kearney; step-children, Bill (Lois) Hickey of Willow Island, Jim Hickey of North Platte, Kenneth Hickey of Fairfield and Karen Brooks of Holdrege; step-daughter-in-law, Virginia Hickey of Alda and many step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lloyd Kutsch; and stepson, Mike Hickey.
