Dale Landercasper, age 83 of Cozad, died Jan. 15, 2009 at the Golden Living 
Care Center in Cozad.

Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel 
in Cozad with the Rev. Steve Deines officiating.  Burial with military honors 
was at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.

Visitation for memorial book signatures was Monday at the Berryman Funeral 
Home in Cozad.

Survivors include his two sons, Larry (Laurie) Landercasper of Cozad, Jeff 
(Betty) Landercasper, of La Crescent, Minn and two grandsons, Samuel 
Landercasper of Colo., and Christopher Landercasper of La Crescent, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2003; his parents; and a 
sister, Eva Lenz.

He was born Sept. 2, 1925 at Cozad to Louis and Minnie (Jorgensen) 
Landercasper.  He graduated from Cozad High School in 1943.  He attended UCLA, 
Crete and Doane Colleges.

In March of 1944, he entered into the U.S. Navy.  Following his discharge, he 
returned to Cozad and on Sept. 2, 1951, he married Barbara J. Patterson.  The 
couple made their home on a site north of Cozad where they farmed.  

In 1973, the couple moved to Cozad.  He co-owned the Cozad Municipal Airport, 
Southview Manor and the Indian Motorcycle dealership at Willow Island.  Dale 
had served as the commercial pilot for Paulsen, Inc., for several years.

He was a member of the Cozad Elks Lodge #2250, First United Methodist Church 
and the Cozad Country Club.  He also served on the Cover Foundation Board in 
Cozad for many years.
