Larsen, 77, of Lexington, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with the Rev. Thane Moore officiating.   Burial will be held prior to the memorial service at Greenwood Cemetery.   Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.  She was born April 9, 1933, at Lexington to Daniel and Mildred (Martin) Roether. Marilyn attended school at Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1950. During high school Marilyn worked at Westerman’s Drug Store and Lexington Floral.   Marilyn was united in marriage to James Larsen on Sept. 10, 1950, at Lexington. Two children were blessed to this marriage, Ann and Chris.   Marilyn always enjoyed keeping a beautiful home, entertaining and would jump at the chance to help a friend with their children’s graduations or weddings. She spent many years as hospitality coordinator at the First United Methodist Church, worked for the election commission at District No. 15 school for many years and kept the books for Larsen Land and Livestock since becoming incorporated in 1976.   She loved collecting antiques, especially pottery and when the children were young she could be found helping with 4-H projects and serving as 4-H leader for several years. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church.   Marilyn was a lovely lady who will always be remembered for her love of family, her hospitality and her generosity.   She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, James Larsen of Lexington; one son, Chris (Kira) Larsen of Lexington; one daughter, Ann (Frank) Albertson of Lakewood, Colo.; three grandchildren, Jamie (Joseph, III) Adessa, of Watkins, Colo., Nathan R. Philips and partner, Jenifer Mettler of Lincoln, Ashley Larsen of Lexington; six great-grandchildren, Jaelyn, Jacob, Taylor and Lily Philips of Lincoln, and Joseph, IV and Jaden Adessa of Watkins; an uncle and aunt, Henry and LaRue Roether of Lexington; one niece, two nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.   Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; Marvin and Ernest in infancy and one nephew.   File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ne/dawson/obits/l/larsen318gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nefiles/ File size: 2.9 Kb
