Mass of the Christian Burial was held Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Cozad with the Rev. Don O’Brien as celebrant. A Rosary was recited on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery at a later date. Visitation was Thursday at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Leach of Cozad; two sons, Quinlan and Austin Leach of Cozad; parents, Earl (Pat) Leach of Carter Lake, Iowa; brother, Lane Leach of Arcadia, Fla; grandmother, Donna Keyser of North Platte; father and mother-in-law, Keith (Lou) McKelvey of Cozad; sister-in- law, Tracy Lynn Halligan of Cozad and two brothers-in-law, Terry McKelvey of Kenmire, N.D., and Mark (Suzanne) McKelvey of Hastings. He was preceded in death by a stillborn child, his paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, an aunt, Lynn Power and an uncle, Mike Keyser. He was born Sept. 27, 1965 at North Platte to Earl and Pat (Keyser) Leach. He attended grade school at Arnold and graduated from Cozad High School in 1983. He attended college in Curtis where he studied diesel mechanics. On Nov. 6, 1990, he married Brenda McKelvey and the couple made their home in Curtis for a few years where he farmed. In the mid 1990s, the couple moved to Cozad where Stacey was employed at Lemmon Land and Cattle at Willow Island. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #2250, the NRA and the Eagles Club.
