Funeral services were Friday, May 14 at the O’Brien-Straatmann Funeral Home with the Rev. D. R. Nelson officiating.   Interment was in Moses Hill Cemetery north of Holdrege.  Visitation was held prior to service time.  He was born on Nov. 28, 1911 in Davis, W. Va., to Lewis and Ethel (Harper) Lockwood.  He grew up in Davis and received his education at Atlanta.  He was united in marriage to Violet Case on May 22, 1938 in Atlanta.  The couple lived in McCook, Broken Bow, Cozad and Lexington.  He retired from Roberts Dairy in 1970.  After retirement, he worked at the TB Hospital, Kearney State Teacher’s College and Faith United Methodist as a custodian.   He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and also the Assembly of God, at which he was a board member.  He served on the Board of the Mother Hull Home since 1972 and also held several offices with the Full Gospel Business, Int.  Lee enjoyed gardening and traveling with his family.  He played baseball and basketball in school.  He and his basketball team played in the state tournament.  He loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. Survivors include his son, Larry (Judy) Lockwood of Framingham, Mass.; daughters, Linda (Monte) Standage of Gibbon, Karen Johnson of Hooper and Merrilee (Sam) Thomas of Beaver City; 11 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren and and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Violet; parents; two brothers, Herbert and Ernest, and granddaughter Margene LaDuc.
