She fought the good fight but she grew weary and God called her home. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in Cozad with Pastor Don Wilken officiating. Inurnment will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation for memorial book signatures will be Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. She was born on August 11, 1961 at Cozad to Delmar and Alice (Miles) Maaske. Cindy graduated from the Cozad High School in 1980. She lived and worked in Holdrege for Becton Dickenson and worked at Monroe Auto Equipment in Cozad for a short time. She spent most of her life working with the elderly. Cindy loved people, especially the elderly and children. She never met a stranger. She was a generous and loving person; she touched many lives and was loved by many. Cindy was an active member of the American Lutheran Church in Cozad. She assisted and directed Bible school and she was most recently the President of the Women of the American Lutheran Church. She has a special love for all of her nieces and nephews as well as all the new little ones of the family, the great nieces and nephews. She was their beloved “Aunt Cindy” and their confidant. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Delmar Maaske on March 10, 2010 and infant sister, Marsha Marie. She is survived by her son, Brad Maaske of Lincoln and her grandson, Camren Maaske of Cozad. Brad and Camren were the light of her life. She is also survived by her mother, Alice Maaske of Cozad; a sister, Pat (Terry) Brand of Cozad; two brothers, Les (Tammie) Maaske of Cozad and Kent (Jackie) Maaske of Cottonwood, Ariz. Also surviving Cindy are all of her special nieces and nephews, Jason (Janet) Brand and Paige Maaske, all of Cozad, Amanda Dickman, Nick (Lisa) Brand, Nick (Dana) Maaske, Clint Maaske and Krystal Maaske, all of Lincoln, Doug (Jen) Maaske of Corpus Cristi, Texas, Elizabeth (Ryan) Swapp of Cottonwood, Ariz., Adam and Anthony Maaske of Van Nuys, Calif., Brad’s “special someone,” Angie Shelley of Lincoln and all of the “little ones”, Samantha, Katelyn, Dylan and Hudson Brand, Taytum, Cynch and Aubrey Dickman, Devyn, Satori, Saida, Kaidence and Lily Maaske, and Mia and Haley, who called her grandma.
