Edith Mae Maertens, age 79 of Cozad, died Jan. 15, 2008 at the Cozad Community 
Hospital.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at the Cozad Christian Church 
with Ian Blacker and Jeremy Jech officiating.

A private burial was in the Cozad Cemetery.

Visitation was from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Berryman Funeral Home.

Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Ed of Cozad; two daughters, Dona (Robert) Reece 
of Cuchara, Colo. and Lori (Ian) Blacker of Lamar, Colo., and three 
grandchildren, Aanna, Marah and Caelan.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gary in 1978 and a sister, Mary Louise 
Purscell. 

She was born June 3, 1928 at Omaha to Merlin and Mary (Selders) Elliott. She 
graduated from Omaha South High School in 1946. 

On May 18, 1951, she married Ed Maertens at Omaha.
