Jan attended school at Odessa, Holdrege and Loomis. Following her education, Jan worked at the Holdrege Country Club and did a lot of babysitting for families in the Holdrege area. From a young age Jan always loved kids and when her kids were in high school she went to work at Foote Oil in Overton.   She was united in marriage to Michael McCarter on Dec. 27, 1982, at Kearney. Four children were blessed to this marriage; Josh, Travis, Stephanie and Jarad. Mike and Jan lived in Overton their entire married lives. Being a mom was Jan’s greatest joy in life. She was able to stay at home with the kids until they went to high school and was always active in all of their activities and coached them as well.   Jan was good at everything she set her mind to; she loved sewing, doing crafts, cooking and decorating. But, her greatest joy was being with her family and her three little grandsons. She will be so very missed.   Growing up Jan was a member of Moses Hill Covenant Church in Holdrege.     File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ne/dawson/obits/m/mccarter252gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/nefiles/ File size: 2.9 Kb
