Memorial Services will be Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Horner Lieske McBride and Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney with the Rev. Dean Pofahl officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Connie was born on Oct. 19, 1949 in Lexington, to James Robert and Alice Ellen (Wood) Gamble. She graduated High School from Omaha Tech in 1969. She married Edward Lee Daniels on May 28, 1971. She later married Houston McConnell. He preceded her in death. In July 2002 Connie and Laurie Loomis had a commitment ceremony and became life partners. Connie worked as a Child Care Provided at the Kearney YMCA. She also volunteered as a CRP Instructor for the American Red Cross and taught gun safety to children. Her favorite hobby was making dream catchers to give to children and friends. Connie will be remembered as a passionate volunteer with a big heart for giving to others. Surviving relatives include her daughters, Jamie (Jeffery) Muth, of Kearney, LaGaya Broadstone, of Lincoln; her life partner, Laurie Loomis, of Kearney; sister, Bonnie (Perry) Folkers, of Lexington; step sons, Joseph (Carol) McConnell, of Scottsbluff, Dusty McConnell, of Colorado; nieces, Lachele Myers, of Superior, Tish Myers, of Augusta, Ga., and three step-grandchildren Connie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Houston McConnell.
