McNulty, age 97, of Cozad, died Aug. 3, 2010 at the Golden Living Care Center in Cozad. Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Parkview United Methodist Church in Cozad with Pastors Doug Smith and Cesar Duran officiating. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery northeast of Cozad. Visitation was Friday at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Elsye was born March 26, 1913, on a farm northeast of Cozad to Johnny and Florence “Olive” Berryman. She attended Cozad High School. On Aug. 29, 1929, she married Everett McNulty at Norton, Kan. The couple made their home in Denver for a year before returning to Cozad. In 1934, the couple moved to a farm site 10 miles northeast of Cozad where they lived and farmed the rest of their married life. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Ralph, Phyllis, Sharon and Janet. Everett preceded her in death in 1987. Elsye was a life-long member of the Parkview United Methodist Church in Cozad. She was a leader in 4-H, Guardian of Job’s Daughters Bethel No. 30 and Grand Guardian of Job’s Daughters of Nebraska, member of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 74, member of the Genealogy Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Green Thumb Garden Club. Elsye loved flowers and her garden. She most especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and was the family historian. Everett and Elsye enjoyed traveling all over the United States and in Europe. In addition to her husband, Elsye was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Billy Stevenson and a sister, Arleen Christensen. Elsye is survived by her son, Ralph (Connie) McNulty of Lexington; three daughters, Phyllis Stevenson and Sharon Koch, both of Cozad, Janet Hand of Sea Cliff, N.Y.; three sisters, Opal Pearson of Cozad, LaVon (Paul) Pape of Gothenburg, Elaine (Louis) Pirrone of Long Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) McNulty of Bellevue, Debra (Avon Arms) McDonald of Cozad, Jeff (Kathy) Stevenson of Lexington, Lisa (Russ) Evans and Julie (Brian) Kelly both of Castle Rock, Colo., Cory (Annette) Koch of Sultan, Wash., Gregory (LeAnn) Koch of La Vista, Linda (Jeff) Strong of Federal Way, Wash., Alison Hand of Somerville, Mass.; 18 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren with another due in December and many other relatives and friends.
