Darlene F. Misterek, age 71 of Elwood, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011 at her home 
in Elwood surrounded by her family.

Services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Our 
Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood.  Burial will be in the Elwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the 
church in Elwood.

Darlene was born on July 8, 1940, at Lexington, to Ernest and Doris (Stryker) 
Goedert.  She attended Lexington High School.

On Oct. 17, 1981, Darlene married Lee Misterek at the Chapel of The Lake near 
Elwood.  

Survivors include her husband, Lee Misterek of Elwood; three daughters, Deb 
White of Overton, Kris (Scott) Hueftle of Holdrege, Mindi (Shawn) Area of 
Overton; son, Shane Schwarz of Kearney; four step-daughters, Charlene (Taun) 
West of Lexington, Shari (Jim) Lueking of Birgsdale, Colo., Brenda (John) 
Golter of North Platte, Judy (Rodney) Stagemeyer of North Platte; eight 
grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a host of 
other relatives and friends.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Raymond Ernest Schwarz; 
daughter, Cheryl Schwarz; step-son, Steve Misterek; two brother’s-in-law, Dean 
and Etta Misterek and Eldon Houlden.
