Sharon K. Myer, age 69, of Cozad, died Oct. 18, 2010 at her home in Cozad 
surrounded by her family.

Mass of the Christian Burial was Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ 
The King Catholic Church in Cozad with Father Don O’Brien officiating.  Burial 
was in the Cozad Cemetery.

Visitation was held Thursday, Oct. 21, at Christ The King Catholic Church with 
a Rosary recited.

Sharon was born on May 6, 1941 southwest of Ewing to William and Carmelita 
(Sehi) Leahy.  She graduated from Cozad High School in 1958.

On Sept. 10, 1960 she married Leon Myer at Cozad.  The couple made their home 
in Cozad where Sharon worked at Central and North Elementary Schools; first as 
a teacher’s aid, and later, the school librarian.  Sharon would remain with 
the school until her eventual retirement in 2002.  Sharon and Leon were 
blessed with five children, Anne, Joe, John, Mary, and Ellen.  

Sharon was a life-long member of Christ The King Catholic Church and the Altar 
Society.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Myer of Cozad; two sons, Joe (Jill) Myer 
and  John (Julie) Myer, all of Cozad; three daughters, Anne (Eric) Seaman and 
Mary Myer all of Cozad and Ellen Myer of Lincoln; two brothers, Michael(Molly) 
Leahy of Lexington, Patrick (Deb) Leahy of Cozad; four sisters, Maureen 
(David) Lewis of  Missoula, Mont., Janis Hutchins and LaDonna Dannehl, both of 
Lincoln, and Vicki Smith of Cozad; six grandchildren, Cora-Leigh, Jacob, 
Jordan, Bianca, Maddux, and Alynne and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Theresa Marie and an 
infant brother, John Thomas.
