O’Meara, age 45, of Kearney, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 11, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Josh Brown officiating. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Eddyville with graveside services at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. Christian Wake Services will be Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Visitation will one hour prior to the Wake Service Thursday evening at the dhurch and one hour prior to services Friday morning at the church. Shawn was born March 3, 1966 in Lexington to Edward and Virginia R. (Fagot) O’Meara. He attended school in Lexington and was a graduate of Lexington High School in 1987. Shawn was a resident of Eddyville until 1991 when he moved to Kearney where he was employed at Mid-Nebraska and at Baldwin Manufacturing. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He was involved with ARC and enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics. Surviving relatives include eight sisters, Jeanne Britt of Puyallup, Wash., Bonnie (Gary) Varvel of Lincoln; Kathy (John) Dickerson of Phoenix, Ariz., Connie (Ken) Banks Ken of Hastings, Kelly (Lonnie) Parsons of North Platte, Peggy O’Meara of Lincoln, Judy Butler of Des Moines, Iowa, Suzanne O’Meara of Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Mike (Patti) O’Meara of Kearney, Bill (Bette ) O’Meara of Kearney and Bob (Kristi) O’Meara of Lexington.
