Hazel Ostrom, 92, of Lexington, formerly of Gothenburg, died Jan. 8, 2008. Funeral services were held on Jan. 10, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Gothenburg. Pastor Larry Viter and Hazel’s son, Pastor Grant J. Ostrom officiated. Visitation was Jan. 10, at First Baptist Church Gothenburg. Burial was in the Gothenburg Cemetery. Survivors include three children, John Ostrom of Lexington, Grant (Anita) Ostrom of Tennessee, Cherry (Vern) Kuhlman of Colorado Springs, Colo., nine grandchildren, Anne Eilers, Lars Ostrom, Leif Ostrom, David Ostrom, Kurt Ostrom, Timothy Ostrom, Trae Strube, Michael Kuhlman, Keith Kuhlman and 14 great-grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Harry, daughters-in-law, Annette Ostrom and Connie Ostrom; a grandson, Kurt Ostrom, and four sisters, Lucy Davis, Irene Egleston, Esther Davis, Gladys Fredrickson; two brothers, Fielding and Charles Pettijohn. Sylvia Hazel was born on Feb. 18, 1915 at Beaver Crossing, to John and Josephine (Krasomil) Pettijohn. She graduated high school Salutatorian in 1933 at Trenton. She married Harry Ostrom on Oct. 15, 1936 in Denver, Colo. To this union were born three children, John, Grant and Cherry.
