Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb.11, 2009, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Goth- enburg. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009 at the American Lutheran Church, Cozad, with Pastor Don Wilken officiating. Burial will take place in the Cozad Cemetery. Irene is survived by her two daughters, Goldie Souders of Parker, Colo., and Jean (Mike) Critchfield of Cozad, grandchildren Mike Souders of Tullahoma, Tenn., Teri (Dale) Tipton of Parker, Colo., Lisa (Kenard) Koetter and family, Ryan, Aaron, and Kody of Ellinwood, Kan., Kelly (John) Peden and family, Nicole, Nathan, Zach, Savannah and Jaiden of Cozad, Kristi (Tim) Daum and family, Alyson, Brenleigh and Andrew of Limon, Colo. Irene is also survived by one great-great grandchild, Blake, son of Nicole Nelsen and Andrew Conroy.  Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother George.  Irene was born Oct. 24, 1918 in Gilead to William A. and Ellen Christine (Neeman) Rauckmann.  She was the younger of two children.  Irene married Chester A. Peek on Jan. 27, 1940 in Colby, Kan. To this union two daughters were born, Goldie and Jeanie. The couple made their home in Goodland, Kan., until 1977 when they moved to Lexington to be near their children and grandchildren. Several years later they moved into the new Cozad Housing facility.  Chet died in 1990.  Irene lived at the Cozad Housing facility until moving into assisted living.  In July of 2008 Irene moved into the Golden Living Center.  Irene was a member of the Cozad American Lutheran Church.
