Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 27, at the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo with Vicar Victor Rasmussen officiating. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery at Buffalo. There will be no visitation. Survivors include his son, David (Janet) Quitmeyer of Lexington; daughter, Eileen Sawyers of Omaha; two sisters, Nora Prange of Redding, Calif., Opal Quitmeyer of Lexington; sister-in-law, Shirley (Leland) Thorell of Holdrege; four grandchildren, Katie (Slim) Reece, Casey Quitmeyer, Brooke Sawyers and fiancé, Ryan Donovan, and Nick Sawyers; and one great-grandchild, Rebecca Reece. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby in 1951; and daughter Letty in 1954. Marvin was born Aug. 12, 1917 at Buffalo, to Frank and Bertha (Kopf) Quitmeyer. He attended the First Lutheran Parochial School at Buffalo. On Feb. 18, 1941 he entered the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. Following his discharge, he married Ruby Cyriacks on June 1, 1947 at the Zion Lutheran Church north of Gothenburg.
