Marjorie Rhone, age 85 of Cozad, died May 19, 2009 at the Hilltop Estates in 
Gothenburg.

Services were held Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in 
Cozad with the Rev. Lyle Schoen officiating.  Burial was at the Fairview 
Cemetery South of Cozad.

Visitation was Thursday at the Berryman Funeral Home.

Survivors include her two daughters, Mary (Gary) White of Lexington, Lynn 
(John) Mundorf of Mullen; a sister, Helen (Jerry) Arnold of Cozad; sister-in-
law, Norma Rhone of Cozad; four grandchildren, Miles and his fiancé, Becky 
Shane of Mullen, Joe Mundorf of Mullen, Sarah and Kristin White both of 
Lexington; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Ferne 
Whaley, Addie Whaley, Ena Whaley, Byrdie Cormier; five brothers, Paul, Art, 
Edward “Buster”, Dow, Ivan; and three infant siblings.

She was born May 27, 1923 at Cozad to Leonard and Ruth (Lees) Whaley.  She 
graduated from Cozad High School in 1941.

On June 25, 1950, she married Dahlas R. Rhone at Cozad.  The couple made their 
home on the Rhone family farm south of Cozad, where they raised their two 
daughters.  Mr. Rhone preceded her in death in 2002.

Marjorie was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Cozad.  
She was a member of the Cozad China Painter’s Club.

She loved her home, family and friends.  She enjoyed collecting antiques, 
gardening and china painting.

Memorials are suggested to Central Plains Home Health and Hospice, the First 
United Methodist Church in Cozad or to the donor’s choice.  Condolences may be
