Richardson, 79, of Lexington, died Monday, June 21, 2010, at Cozad Community Hospital. Memorial services were Friday, June 25, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington with the Revs. Kay Knudson and Caroline Vickery officiating. Burial was prior to the memorial service at Robb Cemetery south of Lexington. Visitation was Thursday, June 24, 2010, at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. He was born May 2, 1931, on the farm south of Lexington to Herbert and Matilda (Lantz) Richardson. Harley was a 1948 graduate of Lexington High School and a 1952 graduate of the University of Nebraska. Harley was united in marriage to Jeanette Neville on Nov. 10, 1951, at Broken Bow. Following the couple’s marriage, Harley entered the United States Air Force and was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyo. After moving a few times with the military, they returned to the farm south of Lexington. He was a member of St. Peter’s in the Valley Episcopal Church, the American Legion, Sparerib Club and Lakeside Country Club. Harley was a rural mail carrier for several years, helped deliver meals-on-wheels, enjoyed Nebraska Cornhusker football and was a member of the N Club. Harley loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s school activities and traveling with Jeanette. Survivors include his son, Jeff (Amy) Richardson of Kearney; two daughters, Terry (Scott) Tomasek of Omaha, Cindy Schmeeckle of Cozad; one sister, Pauline Stoddard of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Mindy Allen of Bellevue, Tucker Tomasek of Seattle Wa., Chad Schmeeckle of Phoenix, Ariz., Trista Tomasek of Kansas City, Mo., Joe Richardson of Kearney, Chris (Chelsea) Schmeeckle of Springfield, Mo., Gabby Schmeeckle of Cozad, and Marcus Richardson of Omaha; three great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Jessica and Tommy Allen, one niece, one nephew and many cousins and friends. Harley was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette in 2009 and one brother-in-law, Glen Stoddard.
