Carl Justus Sandquist, 83 of Albany, Ore., died Tuesday at Samaritan Albany
General Hospital with family present.

A rosary service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. 
He is survived by wife Jean of Albany; daughter Linda Cox of Albany; son Larry
Sandquist of Brookings, Ore.; brothers Wayne (Betty) of Albany, and Carrol
(Sally) of Yuma, Ariz.; sisters Elvira (Ken) Hall of Oregon City, Ore., and
Orvetta Milgrove of Vancouver, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by daughter Nancy on Jan. 14, 1998.
 
He was born in Bertrand to Justus and Eva Sandquist.  Carl married Jean Prasch
on Feb. 21, 1949 in Lexington. They had 60 years together. 

They moved to Albany from Lexington in 1957.  His brothers, sisters and parents
followed them to Albany years later.  He was the family patriot.   He had three
children Linda Cox, Larry Sandquist, and Nancy Taylor. 

Carl was a carpenter, builder and did remodeling of homes.  He also had
Sandquist Building Supply in Albany for many years.
