Aaron Lee Schad, age 64, former business owner in Lexington, died on Friday, 
May 2, 2008 at his home, following a battle with cancer. 

His body was cremated. A “Celebration of His Life” will be held for friends 
and family on Saturday, May 10, at 3:00 p.m. at the Quality Inn in North 
Platte.

Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
through Friday, May 9 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte.

Survivors include his wife, Janice; one son, Michael P. Schad of Lincoln; two 
daughters, Lisa (John) Foy of Omaha, and Elizabeth “Ellie” Schad of St. Louis, 
Mo.; grandchildren: Alexandra “Alex” Gillispie and Elizabeth “Betsy” Foy, 
Daniel Foy, all of Omaha, and Nolan Schad of Lincoln; a brother, Murray 
(Maris) Schad, and a sister-in-law Marlynn (Gary) Beery of Greeley, Colo., and 
many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, AF & Marvel Schad; his in-laws, W. 
Stanley & Mary (Kilmer) Phillips; a brother-in-law, Harold “Phil” Phillips, 
and several aunts and uncles.

Aaron was born to A.F. and Marvel (Gwin) Schad in Portland, Ore., on  Aug. 7, 
1943. When his parents returned to Gothenburg after the war, he attended grade 
school until 1953 when the family moved to North Platte. He graduated in 1961 
from North Platte High. In 1963, he married his high school sweetheart, Janice 
Phillips in North Platte.
