Visitation was held Friday at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Rosary was recited Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cozad. Mass of the Christian burial will be (today) Saturday, Jan. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with The Rev. Don O’Brien as celebrant. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery with military honors. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary of Cozad; a daughter, Janelle (Wes) Matthews of Gering; three sons, John (Marion) Schuchardt of Bloomfield, N.J., Jim (Roxanne) Schuchardt of Omaha and Joe Schuchardt of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Scott, Nick, Matthew and Andrew; five great-grandchildren, Jason, Zachary, Emma, Madelyn and Lilian and a brother, Ronald (Mary Lou) Schuchardt of Salem, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was born April 21, 1925 at Elgin to Frank and Aleida (Bryant) Schuchardt. He graduated from Hemingford High School in 1943. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. On Sept. 17, 1946, he married Rosemary Alfter at Sidney.
