Ed Stryker, age 83, of Kearney, died April 26, 2008, at Good Samaritan 
Hospital in Kearney. 
 
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, at the United 
Church of Sumner in Sumner, with Pastor Ken Hutson officiating. Burial will be 
at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Lexington. 

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008, Horner-Lieske-
Horner Mortuary in Kearney.

Survivors include his wife, Verla Jean Stryker of Kearney; a brother, Bill 
Meester of West Virgina; sons, Ronald (Pam) Stryker of Eddyville, Charles 
Stryker of Eddyville, Kenneth Stryker of Kearney and David (Marlys) Stryker of 
Hildreth; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ed was born on May 3, 1924 in Overton to Ed and Emma (Barta) Stryker. He 
attended school in Sumner. 

Ed was married to Verla Jean Danes on Dec. 6, 1948 in Neligh.
