Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 29, at the United Methodist Church in Curtis, with the Rev. Kevin Burkhardt officiating. Burial was in the Maywood Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday, April 28, at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Curtis. Survivors include her husband Leland Towne of Curtis; three daughters, Lynda (Wade) Lange of Curtis; Tenna Towne of Lincoln; Leanna (Paul) Klempa of Lincoln; one brother, Frank (Nancy) Spencer of Blair; four sisters Delores (Bill) Livingston of Lexington; Beulah (Karl) Tiede of Overton; Linda (Terry) Williams of Cedar Bluffs; Judy (Bernard) Case of Fowler, Colo.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers Roger and Virgil Spencer. Lois was born on Aug. 3, 1941 at Cozad, to Richard Dale and Ruby “Russell” (Brown) Spencer.  She grew up in Cozad and received her education there.  She also lived in Lexington and Fremont. On June 1, 1967, she married Leland Towne in Lincoln. They moved to the farm in Curtis in 1970. They had three daughters Lynda, Tenna, and Leanna.
