Fahy E. Wadkins, 91, of Lexington, formerly of Phillips, Nebraska, died 
Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington.

A Memorial Graveside Service was held Friday, Feb. 22, at the Phillips 
Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Marta Wheeler officiating. Military Honors were 
present at graveside.

It was Fahy’s wishes that his body be cremated.

There will be no visitation. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington was in 
charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Velma Wadkins of Lexington; three 
sons, Marion Wadkins of Grand Island, Dennis (Jane) Wadkins of Grand Island 
and Douglas (Theresa) Wadkins of Lexington; a daughter, Marty Martin of 
Lawton, Okla.; and five grandchildren, Kim Wadkins and husband Todd Meyer of 
Gibbon, Butch (Jennifer) Evans of Grand Island, Patrick and Michael Wadkins 
both of Lincoln and Amy (Steve) Whitefoot of Atoka, Tenn; and 10 great-
grandchildren, Cody, Hannah, Patrick, Alyssa, Jessica, Jacob, Chase, Justin, 
Jordan and Morgan.

Fahy was preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter, Tyna 
Wadkins; two brothers and five sisters.

He was born Sept. 20, 1916, in York County near Blue Vale, to Wiley R. and 
Bertha M. (Kincaid) Wadkins.  

Fahy moved to Phillips when he was 6-months-old and graduated from Phillips 
High School with the class of 1934. He worked for his dad in the grocery store 
and was united in marriage to Velma Walker on Nov. 2, 1940, in York. They had 
four children, Marion, Dennis, Douglas and Marty.
